The Duluth Chamber of Commerce informed that I was 1 of 5 Duluth area artists that were finalists whose work was being considered for Chamber promotions in 2009. Soon after, the Chamber informed me that my image of "Reserve Christmas" (S/S Reserve) was the one that was chosen to be reproduced on 35,000 Duluth city maps, 4500 visitor guides that go out to Duluth area businesses and 2500 guides that go to Chamber members.

1996 - My work was chosen for exhibit, and won the Encouragement Award. Also, one of my high school students work was also chosen for exhibit.
1997 - My work was chosen for exhibit, and won the Encouragement Award. I was the highest ranking North American artist, and also 4 of my high school students works were chosen for exhibit, one student winning the Encouragement Award as well.
1998 - My work was chosen for exhibit, and won the Encouragement Award. Also, 6 of my high school students works were chosen for exhibit, two of them winning the Encouragement Award as well.
1999 - My work and 7 of my high school students works were chosen for exhibit.

Minnesotas World Port magazine, winter 1997-1998 edition, featured my watercolor of the S/S Buckeye on its cover.

In 2000, A book written by Dr. Patrick Dorin, Passenger Trains of the Post War Era, featured my watercolor of the passenger train Flambeau 500 on the cover.

In 2006, St. Mary's Duluth Clinic of Duluth, MN purchased 2 of my wildlife originals to be part of their permanent collection in the SMDC Virginia Clinic expansion in Virginia, MN. On public display are "Dawn" (bull moose) and "Cautious Approach" (3 whitetail deer).

Beginning in May 2007, the periodical The Great Lakes Pilot of Grand Marais, MI began using my marine paintings to feature the cover of their publications.

From June - August 2007, 4 of my marine paintings were juried into the American Society of Marine Artists, Great Lakes Regional Exhibit held in St. Joseph, MI. Chosen for exhibit were "May Morning" (M/V American Spirit), "Canal Park Sunset" (M/V Edgar B. Speer), "Light Show" (S/S Arthur M. Anderson) and "Reserve Christmas" (S/S Reserve). "Reserve Christmas" was also reproduced as postcards and brochures to promote the show.

The Great Lakes Fleet, Inc. of Duluth, MN made their 2008 calendar out of 13 of my marine paintings featuring their vessels.

The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Milwaukee, WI purchased 3 of my original marine watercolors and commissioned me to do a 4th in June 2008. Originally purchased were "Summer Evening" (S/S William A. Irvin and tug Lake Superior), "Welding the Clarke" (S/S Phillip R. Clarke), "Light Show" (S/S Arthur M. Anderson) and the commissioned work was "Duluth Departure" (M/V Indiana Harbor). All 4 become part of their permanent collection as part of their new building during the fall of 2008.


The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Milwaukee also commissioned me to complete 3 original wildlife watercolors in August 2008. "Red October" (red fox), "Wally of the Woodpile" (chipmunk) and "Roadside Robins" (American robins) become part of their permanent collection as part of their new building during the fall of 2008.
